Aaron, my father, and I finished the race! Aaron completed 13.1 miles (1/2 marathon) and my father and I ran the marathon!

Ridge's Race

Today Ridge ran a race. It was one mile (1.2 Kilometers). It was very fun for him! Tomorrow I will run the San Antonio marathon. My father will run, too. Aaron will walk 1/2 of the marathon with us. It will be a busy day!

Halloween

Ridge and Holt enjoyed Halloween! It is still warm weather in Texas, now. We visited the San Antonio Gardens. There was a Halloween Festival. The Gardens also had some beatiful statues of insects. The statues are made of wood.



Ridge continues to study Japanese. He is now learning some kanji! He is excited. Yesterday, Ridge and Holt enjoyed looking at photos from Nishiokoppe. They have many happy memories!

Marathon - Finished!

Today I ran my second marathon! I ran 5 hours and 30 minutes. I am tired, but I feel good! I will show you more photos later. My hotel is across from Safeco field. It is very cool!

Summer Camp

This week, Ridge is attending a special school. He attends every day from 9:00 until 4:30. He is studying nature. It is a fun school. In America, many children go to special fun schools in the summer. We call this, "Summer Camp". Children attend during the day and learn fun information. In July, Holt will attend a Theater school for two weeks. Ridge will attend another school at the zoo for one week.

Ridge and Holt had a party. The party was at our neighborhood pool. We swam. We ate cupcakes (カップケーキ) . We had a pinata. It was a lot of fun! Now Texas weather is very hot! Everyday it is 38 C.

Summer Vacation

Today I am very happy! Today I begin my summer vacation! I will stay home 2.5 months. I will return to work on August 17th. We will swim in our neighborhood pool. We will go to the zoo. Ridge, Holt, and I will play a lot!

My garden is growing very good. We can eat tomato, cucumber, and green beans. I will show a picture soon.

I will run another marathon. Aaron and I will go to Seattle on June 25. I will run a marathon on June 27. I will do my best!

Recently, San Antonio had a festival. It is called "fiesta". Many Mexican people live in San Antonio. "Fiesta" means "festival" or "party" in Spanish. Many fun things happen. We went to a mexican Rodeo ( ロデオ ). Men, women, boys, and girls ride horses. Girls ride sidesaddle (翻訳). Here are some photos.

Easter

Sunday was Easter. Easter is a Christian holiday. (イースター) It is traditional to have an "Easter Egg Hunt" on Easter. People hide plastic eggs. Children look for the eggs. Inside the eggs are candy or money. Ridge and Holt enjoyed thier Easter egg hunt. Children also enjoy making easter eggs ( イースターエッグ -- 彩色した飾り卵で復活祭の贈り物にする).

Here is some special bread we ate. It is in a rabbit shape. American children believe in the Easter Bunny. It is a little like Santa Clause. The "Easter Bunny" brings candy for children on Easter morning. A "bunny" is a rabbit. Maybe it is a strange custom? In American culture, the Easter Bunny will bring eggs.
